The season is coming to an end . . . but it's still not over.  With warm water temperatures and bonito and albies still circling our shores - there is still much fishing to be had.  The Derby is over and for me and my fishing buddy we had some really good times.  We fished the Derby pretty hard and for my friend Stephen, he ended his season with a Derby winning bluefish that won him a brand new Eastern boat.  Check out the Awards ceremony on my Facebook page or by going to this Youtube link.

The harbors are still loaded with bait and I expect there is some really good fishing still to be had here on the Vineyard.  With the season coming to an end the pressure to catch a Derby winning fish is off and my daughter is hooked.  I will still be on the beach and hopefully getting my girls a few more fish before the cold weather sets in.

It was a great season and I enjoyed fishing with all of you and hope to get the opportunity to take you out again.  If I have not fished with you and you would like to fish the Vineyard I would love to have the chance to show you around and hopefully put you into some good Vineyard surf casting.  Have a great winter everyone.

Fishing is still good from the beach.  We have many fish in the 28-34 inch range, with a few fish each night hitting the 40" mark.  Plugs are still working well, but the bigger fish have been caught with live eels.  The water temps are high, but with the abundance of squid (and close to shore too) the fishing has remained steady.  Fishing has been good just before dark and even better they have been hitting surface plugs.

We have had really great fishing trips and each client has had a memorable experience.  You couldn't be coming into surf fishing at a better time.  Whether you are a veteran surf caster or a just beginning, I can provide you a productive and meaningful experience fishing on the Vineyard.  Give me a call, 508-274-0320 or drop me an email, This email address is being protected from spambots. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

That is all that I can say right now.  The fishing has been spectacular and I don't want it to end.  We are catching a lot of fish, with many fish over 25 pounds and several over 30 pounds.  All the fish have come from lures - NO BAIT!  I just love that because for me that is a true testament to your fishing ability.  To trick a fish to hit an artifical bait from the beach is not an easy feat, but right now it seems too easy.

So now that I have just jinks myself for the rest of the season please be sure to give me a ring and I'd be more than happy to show you a great time fishing.  I have finally broke the 50 pound mark, but I have to admit it was from a boat.  I caught a 51 pounder while fishing with my friend on his boat.  It was a lot of fun and wouldn't trade it for anything, but now I want that 50 from the beach.  Check out a photo on Livinit's MV Fishing Reports on Facebook.

We were off to a cool start this season . . . meaning a little slow.  It has picked up the past week or so and some respectable fish are being caught all around the island.   Bluefishing is still good on Chappy.

Some of the bigger fish have been caught on fresh bait or live eels, but plenty have been caught on plugs too.  Darters, bucktails, swimmers and metal have been the preferred lures.

More frequent posts will be on Facebook, Livinit's MV Fishing Reports: http://www.facebook.com/livinitreports.  Take care and hope to see you on the Vineyard
