Still waiting to hear about bonito! Rumors have been flying around but no confirmed catches yet known. Bass fishing continues to be sporadic from the beaches. Some surf casters had some stellar nights at the Breach and Wasque Point, while others came up skunked. The north shore of the island is also giving up keeper sized bass, but the schools seem to be very localized in certain coves. Big bluefish are being caught around the Aquinnah cliffs, Philbin Beach, and Squibnocket. East Beach on Chappy and Vineyard Haven Harbor are also giving up numerous small bluefish day and night. |
With another successful season over I can't help but think of all the great people I met this year and happy to have shared fishing on the Vineyard with them all. I hope for those of you who have fished with me enjoyed yourself and learned something new along the way. I hope to see you again and if not I wish you the best of luck. Please don't hesitate to drop me an email or post on my Facebook page with any questions, comments or recommendations.
I will be presenting at Foxborough's Bass Pro Shops on March 8, 2012. If you are in the area please stop in and say hello. Bass Pro Shops will be hosting several lectures that day from fresh to saltwater fishing. If you are interested in booking a charter for the 2012 season please go to the "Guide Info" tab and submit the form or email me at matt@mvfishing.com. I hope to see you on the beach. |
